Bids and Budgets

Estimating and producing bids for projects is a tricky process. Many people, layman and contractors alike, try to break jobs down using a price per square foot approach. While this makes things appear easy and straight forward on paper, it ultimately leads to many unforeseen problems once the project is underway.

Each individual project is different. Flooring, plumbing fixtures, types of tile, accessibility, and many other details are job-specific. For this reason, all of our bids are comprehensive. Our bids detail exactly where the money goes and how much money is allocated for each item. We do this so that there are no questions on where money can be saved and when money can be moved from one area to another.

We strive to finish all of our projects on budget. However, sometimes there will be change orders or circumstances that are out of our control that could add to the cost of the project. To combat this possibility, we put allowances and contingencies into the bid so that if unforeseen problems do arise there is not an increased burden placed on the client.
